“Magic!” That’s how one fan described the Dulverton Players’ spring production, “Daisy Pulls It Off”, by Denise Deegan. The award-winning comedy, which pokes gentle fun at girls’ boarding school stories, played to packed houses. Jolly japes at Grangewood School, like Daisy’s cliff-top rescue of the beastly Sybil and Monica from the raging seas below, were greeted with a storm of applause. It’s fair to say that the cast enjoyed all the high jinks as much as the audience. Brilliant sound effects, with over a hundred and thirty cues, lighting, costumes and set, helped to make scholarship girl Daisy’s perilous journey through the 1920’s private school maze entirely convincing.

Tired of general elections, local elections, and endless referenda? Take your revenge on all those irritating politicians by enjoying our mystery evening, “Murder at the Party Conference”, at Dulverton Town Hall on Saturday, July 1st. Christine Dubery will be providing a delicious two-course supper and the bar will be open throughout the evening, and so it won’t matter too much if you don’t manage to solve the dastardly plot. Book early as tickets are strictly limited and it’s playing for one night only.
