Our last production was Blue Remembered Hills by Dennis Potter. First broadcast on television January 1979, the play is set in 1943, in the West Country where the strain of four years of conflict is taking its toll. Here we see a handful of children at play during a long summer afternoon. Except its not that simple – for a start the actors are grown-ups, playing children who frequently assume the roles of grown-ups, and behave as they do, as they play together.

Casting – we had a great cast for this production combining seasoned amateurs, professionals and newcomers, all under the careful direction of Lis Halliday.

Praise for Blue Remembered Hills:

“Just to say I thoroughly enjoyed the play last night, very professional as always and especially so for a first night and what an ending! It left one ‘blown away!”

Margaret, Winsbere House.

“Here! here! Very well done with some beautiful cameo moments. I’m sure it was not easy to do but it was totally convincing”

V. Rev. John Thorogood
